Saving Ecosystems, Animals and Oneself: The Journey to Making a Difference; with Kabel Vafiopulous

Kabel is an individual who has faced challenging situations in his life, and he embodies the power of living purposefully and believing in oneself.

Kabel begins by sharing his own personal journey and a life-changing moment when he experienced a stroke. This event taught him the fragility of life and the importance of making the most of every day.

Kabel’s focus is now set on his wildlife retreat, Wyuna Wildlife Retreat, located in a NSW rainforest. He is committed to protecting rare and endangered species, particularly koalas, and building an intimate connection with co-owners who are also passionate about conservation.

Here’s a summary of our conversation:

09:54 - Passionate nature lover who thrived in sales.

14:54 - Massive breakdown led to life-changing medication.

17:31 - The car accident tragedy.

22:03 - Wildlife retreat; co-ownership model with benefits.

44:35 - Every choice matters. Impact starts small.

45:55 - Discounted accommodation, VIP events, and community building for co-owners.

and lots more…

Enjoy!

Kabel Vafiopulous

Founder & CEO, Wyuna Wildlife Retreat

Kabel's life work is helping others and he's done this in his newest venture - Wyuna Wildlife Retreat.

Wyuna Wildlife Retreat is "a place where the heart meets nature".  Wyuna Wildlife Retreat's priority is to provide a vital and safe corridor for koalas and other endangered wildlife, while at the same time allowing people to immerse themselves in this amazing environment and leave the world behind.

Wyuna Wildlife Retreat has committed to conserve and protect endangered native Australian flora and fauna. The land covers 388 acres and is located next to Killabakh Nature Reserve on the mid north coast of NSW.

Kabel loves helping people and making new REAL personal connections - he enjoys helping them achieve what can seem impossible. He is also a strong advocate for Mental Health and Social Change and believes every person can make a difference so that is what he chooses to do.

Something Interesting About Kabel:

I tick. Yes like a clock I tick. It usually takes people being in a car or in a room with me to slowly figure out there's no clock, I'm not wearing a watch and that the ticking is definitely coming from me. The answer is that at 20 years old I had my aortic heart valve replaced with a prosthetic valve. So I tick.

What Are You Famous For?

In my personal life I openly share with people myself.

About the Podcast

Mission Activated
Conversations and reflections on living your purpose and leading from alignment
Mission Activated is a podcast about living with purpose and leading from alignment.
Hosted by Aveline Clarke, founder of 6 Star Leaders, the show moves between two kinds of episodes: conversations with people doing meaningful work in their own way, and solo reflections drawn from her work coaching conscious leaders through what gets in the way and what's possible on the other side.
This isn't a podcast about hustle, performance, or scale at all costs. It's about the inner work that makes the outer work matter. Self-trust. Clean communication. Owning your part. Becoming someone others can safely navigate by.
If you're tired of leadership content that's loud and shallow, and you're looking for something quieter, more honest, and more useful, this is for you.
New episodes fortnightly. Stay aligned.
